The 1000 and 1650 freestyle are timed-final events. All but the fastest-seeded heats of each will be swum immediately following the morning swimming events (but before the diving events) on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The final heat of the 1000 freestyle will be swum Friday evening following the 200 yard medley relay. The final heat of the 1650 freestyle will be swum as the first event on Saturday evening.

Each team is permitted to enter a maximum of 18 competitors in the meet. An entrant who swims will be counted as one competitor; an entrant who only dives will be counted as one-third of a competitor. For relays, actual participation in preliminaries and/or finals of an event shall be counted toward the maximum of 18 competitors.
